Papaya Leaf is highly beneficial for protein digestion, although it also assists in the digestion of fats and carbohydrates. It is administered by oral route to manage less serious digestive problems. The papaya leaf has also shown potential in the treatment of ulcers. The disintegrating and softening properties of papain, especially in the alkaline composition, have been used to cure dyspepsia. Platimax syrup is empirically used as a supplement in case of decreased platelet counts caused by dengue, malaria, viral and bacterial infections.
