INTRODUCTION:
MIRUMIGEST Tablet contains a hormone, the progestogen Dienogest used in the treatment of painful symptoms caused by endometriosis in women who are 18 years of age and older and have had the first menstrual cycle (menarche). It helps in reducing pelvic pain associated with endometrium-like tissues outside the uterus which cause a chronic inflammation (endometriosis).
Endometriosis is a chronic disease which affects women of childbearing age. It is a condition where endometrium-like tissue is found outside the uterus, which causes chronic inflammation leading to painful symptoms, fatigue, and infertility. You must not use any form of birth control measures that contains hormones and hormonal contraceptives of any form.
Always take MIRUMIGEST Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the medicine whole with plenty of water. Do not drive or operate any machinery while taking this medicine, it may make you feel dizziness, blurred vision. Before taking this medicine tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney disease, heart disease, or pancreas problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medicine. This medicine is strictly not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years. The most common side effects are weight gain, depressed mood, problems sleeping, nervousness, loss of interest in sex, or changed mood, headache or migraine, nausea, abdominal pain, wind, swollen tummy or vomiting, acne, hair loss, back pain, breast discomfort, ovarian cyst or hot flushes.

HOW MIRUMIGEST WORKS:
MIRUMIGEST reduce the effects of estrogen on tissues such as the endometrium (lining of the uterus). Due to this effect on the endometrium, it helps to reduce the pelvic pain experienced by women with endometriosis. Endometriosis is a condition where endometrium-like tissue is found outside the uterus, which causes chronic inflammation.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Always take MIRUMIGEST exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the medicine whole with plenty of water.
SIDE EFFECTS OF MIRUMIGEST:
COMMON
• Weight gain

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS:
Nausea and vomiting:
Keep try taking this medicine with, or just after, a meal or snack and stick to simple meals and do not eat rich or spicy food.
Headache:
Rest and drink plenty of fluids. Apply a cold, wet cloth or ice pack to your forehead. Rest in a quiet, comfortable, dark room.
Stomach pain:
Try to rest and relax. You can eat and drink slowly or have frequent meals. Keeping a heat pad or a covered hot water pack on your stomach may also help. If still pain persists, speak to your doctor.
Diarrhea:
Drink lot of fluid, such as water or squash, to avoid dehydration. Do not take any other medicine without consulting your doctor.

KIDNEY
MIRUMIGEST should be taken with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Consult your doctor for advice.
LIVER
MIRUMIGEST should be taken with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Consult your doctor for advice.
ALLERGY
Do not take if you are allergic to the medicine.
LUNGS
MIRUMIGEST should be taken with caution in patients with lung disease. Consult your doctor for advice.

OTHERS
Do not take this medicine, if you are:
Suffering from a blood clot (thromboembolic disorder) in your veins
INTERACTIONS:
Talk to your doctor, if you are taking medicines used for the treatment of:
Epilepsy (e.g. phenytoin, barbiturates, primidone, carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, topiramate, felbamate)
Tuberculosis (e.g. rifampicin)
HIV and Hepatitis C Virus infections (so-called protease inhibitors and non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors such as ritonavir, nevirapine, efavirenz)
Fungal infections (griseofulvin, ketoconazole)
