It is used to,

Treat manic episodes and as a long-term treatment of bipolar disorder

INTERACTIONS:

Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, especially:

Methyldopa, phenytoin, or carbamazepine
Acetazolamide, urea, xanthine preparations
Alkalinizing agents such as sodium bicarbonate
Iodide preparations, especially potassium iodide
Calcium channel blocking agents
Metronidazole
Fluoxetine
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)

STORAGE:

Keep this medicine out of reach of children
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date
Store at room temperature (15-25°C)
