FRESUBIN DM contains Calcitonin which is a polypeptide hormone secreted by the parafollicular cells of the thyroid gland. Calcitonin helps in maintaining normal calcium levels in the blood
WHAT FRESUBIN DM IS USED FOR?
It is used for the treatment of,
Osteoporosis after menopause (postmenopausal osteoporosis) in women more than 5 years after menopause with low bone mass who refuse or cannot tolerate estrogens, or in whom estrogens are not an option

PREGNANCY & BREAST FEEDING
FRESUBIN DM should not be used by pregnant or lactating women unless clearly necessary
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
CHILDREN & ADOLESCENTS
There are no data to support the use of FRESUBIN DM in children
INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. Especially,
Lithium
DIRECTIONS & FOR USE:
The recommended dose of FRESUBIN DM is one spray daily in alternated nostrils unless directed otherwise by your healthcare provider
Start with a spray in the left nostril on your first day, followed by a spray in the right nostril on the second day
Continue to alternate nostrils every day. There are at least 30 ?doses? of FRESUBIN DM in each bottle
You should keep track of the number of doses used from the bottle
After 30 doses, each spray may not deliver the correct amount of medication, even if the bottle is not completely empty
If you use more FRESUBIN DM
If you accidentally use too much FRESUBIN DM contact your doctor at once or go to the nearest hospital
If you forget to use FRESUBIN DM
If you forget to use a dose, do not worry. Simply miss that dose and use your next dose at the right time. Do not use two doses at the same time
If you stop using FRESUBIN DM
Do not stop using FRESUBIN DM unless your doctor tells you to
