About Clamist Tablet 10’s

Clamist Tablet 10’s belongs to a class of medicines called ‘anti-histamine’ which are used in the treatment of allergic reactions like allergic-rhinitis and urticaria. Allergic rhinitis is a type of inflammation in the nose which occurs when the immune system overreacts to allergens in the air. Urticaria, also known as hives, is an outbreak of swollen, pale red bumps or plaques (wheals) on the skin that appear suddenly, either as a result of the body’s reaction to certain allergens or for unknown reasons.

Clamist Tablet 10’s contains ‘clemastine’ belongs to a class of medicines called ‘anti-histamine’ which are used in the treatment of allergic reactions like allergic-rhinitis and urticaria. which works by blocking the action of certain chemical messengers that are responsible for inflammation, congestion, itching and other allergic reactions.

Clamist Tablet 10’s should be taken as advised by your doctor. Do not chew, break or split the name, swallow it as a whole with a glass of water. Like all medicines, Clamist Tablet 10’s can cause some side effects like dizziness, drowsiness, dryness in mouth, changes in vision. These side effects resolves on it own. If it persists, stop taking this medicine and consult your doctor.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Clamist Tablet 10’s have interactions with carbonic-anhydrase inhibitor (topiramate), anti-cholinergics (ipratropium-bromide, atropine), CNS-depressant (sodium oxybate), leukotriene receptor antagonist  (zafirulkast), benzodiazepines (alprazolam, chlordiazepoxide), anti-vertigo (betahistine) cough relievers (such as codeine, hydrocodone), alcohol, marijuana (cannabis), drugs for sleep or anxiety (such as lorazepam, zolpidem), muscle relaxants (such as carisoprodol, cyclobenzaprine) or other antihistamines (such as cetirizine, diphenhydramine) and MAO inhibitors (phenelzine. selegiline)

Drug-Food Interaction: Alcohol and St John’s wort plant (a plant used as anti-depressant) should not be used along with Clamist Tablet 10’s.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Clamist Tablet 10’s is contraindicated in  epilepsy (fits), urinary bladder problem, galactose-intolerance, prostatic hypertrophy, peptic ulcers, poryphyria and narrow angle glaucoma.
