BETAPRIDE 15MG contains Pioglitazone which is an anti-diabetic medicine used to treat type 2 (non-insulin dependent) diabetes mellitus. It help to control the level of sugar in your blood when you have type 2 diabetes by helping your body make better use of the insulin it produces. Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder which causes high blood sugar. The hormone insulin helps in moving sugar from the blood into your cells which can be stored or used for energy production. In diabetes, your body does not produce required insulin or can’t effectively use the insulin it does make.
Pioglitazone decreases insulin resistance, resulting in increased disposal of insulin-dependent glucose and decreased glucose production in the liver. It works by increasing the body’s sensitivity to insulin, a natural substance that helps control blood sugar levels. Do not take BETAPRIDE 15MG if you have type 1 diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis (high levels of acid in your blood), severe kidney or liver disease. Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have or had heart, thyroid or some hormonal conditions, pregnant or breastfeeding.
