INTRODUCTION:
ACOGUT contains Acotiamide which belongs to the group of medicines called oral gastroprokinetic agent. It is used to treat indigestion, bloating especially after meals and early satiety (state of feeling fed too much) in functional dyspepsia. Functional dyspepsia is a chronic disorder of abnormal movements or sensation in the upper gastrointestinal tract. The symptoms include abdominal pain, bloating (wind), heartburn, sour taste in mouth, excessive burping, nausea, vomiting and an inability to finish meals.
ACOGUT increases gastric motility and smooth muscle contractions and relieves from the symptoms of functional dyspepsia. Along with the treatment, your doctor might ask you to take a fibre rich foods like fresh fruit, vegetables and cereals and to drink plenty of water. If required, you can also eat smaller and frequent meals. Try to improve your physical activity by exercising regularly or by going for a walk, which might help to get rid of bloating easily.
This medicine should be taken at least 10 minutes before meals. Do not stop taking this medicine, without consulting your doctor. Continue to take ACOGUT, as long as your doctor tells you to do so, to obtain better results. Avoid smoking and consumption of alcohol during this medication. The most common side effects of taking this medicine are headache and diarrhea. These side effects are usually temporary and disappears in no time. Before taking this medicine inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

HOW ACOGUT WORKS:
ACOGUT exerts its gastroprokinetic effects by enhancing the release of acetylcholine in the enteric nervous system via inhibition of presynaptic M1 and M2 muscarinic receptor and acetylcholine-esterase activity, which results in enhanced gastric motility and smooth muscle contraction.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Take ACOGUT as directed by your physician. It should be taken at least 10 minutes before meals. Swallow the medicine as whole with a sip of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct duration for you depending upon your age, weight and health condition. Continue to take this medicine, as long as your doctor tells you to do so, to obtain better results.
